Stopping Attacks On Your Mind

I have swept away your offenses like a cloud, your sins like the morning mist. Isaiah 44:22

I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake and remember your sins no more. Isaiah 43:25

One way the devil attacks is through using your guilt over a past sin or sins. You have prayed over it and asked for forgiveness. If another person is involved, you have even asked their forgiveness. You have even forgiven yourself.

Yet, time and time again, your mind goes back to the offense. You believe you missed something. So, you beg for forgiveness again. Then you mope and feel guilty. But it’s an attack.

So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed. John 8:36

When you asked for forgiveness, you got it.

Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus, Romans 8:1

You are not condemned. And if you are being attacked, you will feel like you are condemned. Understand it’s an attack. The devil wants you busted and disgusted. You get so wound up and twisted because you believe God wants you to ask for forgiveness again and again, but that’s not God. The devil wants you to get so messed up, that you abandon your salvation and follow him.

God forgave that sin when you asked for it. If you sinned again, then you will need to ask for forgiveness. If not, then it’s an attack.

Sometimes, you just need to remind yourself and the devil, God has forgiven you. Remind the devil of God’s own word found in Isaiah. Memorize them and use them when your mind and spirit is attacked again.

One more thing, don’t give up. It may take time to get your defense strong, but when you do, you’ll be left alone in that area. You will be victorious.
