You Are A Work In Progress

When you read “Be ye holy, for I am holy,” do you feel dismayed, sad, and/or disheartened? Do you feel like there is no way for you to ever be holy? That every time you think you have a handle on sin, you slip up? Do you ever feel like giving up? Don’t. Do not give up.

There are two things I want you to remember. The first is this scripture, Romans 8:1: There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit. You mess up, you sin. Stop and repent. Confess to God, repent and Jesus will forgive you. If you are in Christ Jesus and for the most part, are walking according to the Holy Spirit, you are not condemned. You may feel convicted, but you are not condemned.

The second thing is you are a work in progress. Philippians 1:6 says being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ. Jesus has begun a good work in you. You are putting off the old man and putting on the new man. That takes time. But do not fret. As long as you abide in Christ, stop the sin, confess and repent, Jesus will continue His work in you. So don’t stop and don’t give up. Jesus is working on you and won’t stop until He is back.

Secure in God's Holy Salvation

The Cross of Jesus Christ was the supreme plan and work of Almighty God from before the beginning. The truth of the cross continues to be the supreme power for redeemed souls saved by God's grace. Satan believes that he can derail Christ's mission through His beloved church. Yet, Satan's deception does not allow him to see that the saint who clings to the truth of the cross is as secure in God's holy salvation as Christ was on His way to Calvary's tree (Phil. 1:6)

Scripture To Get You Through

I am not going to start like I usually do. I was reading an article bu Dorothy Beal on Blogher about the best verses to help while you run a marathon: 26.2 Bible Verses For Running Or Racing. I thought about those verses that get you through anything. My list will probably be unorthodox.

Life

It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man. Psalm 118:8

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not unto your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Proverbs 3:5-6

What are those verses that help you through life?

Feeling Fat, Ugly, Round, Heavy, Bloated, Etc.

I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are your works, and that my soul knows very well. Psalm 139:14

Feeling Unworthy

Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ Philippians 1:6

Feeling Powerless

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ, and being ready to punish all disobedience when your obedience is fulfilled. 2 Corinthians 10: 4-6

I could go on, but these are just a few of what I use to help me. Are there any verses that help you deal with your doubt or negative feelings?
