Without question, God wants us to hope in the promises He has made regarding temporal blessings here and now. He has promised to provide for our temporal needs, to comfort and shepherd us in the valley of the shadow of death, to satisfy and delight our souls, to guide us, to protect us, to show us fatherly compassion, to listen to our cries, and to bless us with his presence in general. If God did not want us to place hope in those promises, he would not have revealed them to us.
